Mountain Bike in Maurienne

28th of October / 4th of November 2017

Level: All levels.

The Maurienne Valley has been made famous for road biking thanks to Le Tour de France and all the big mountain roads like le col du Galibier, or le col de l’Iseran.

The mountain biking has been around the valley since its beginning, way back in the 80’s, but never got as famous as its neighboring resorts like Chamonix or Val d’Isère.

Sounds familiar ? Yes, it’s just like with the skiing here : no crowds, no competition and perfectly maintained single tracks thanks to almost nobody wearing them out ! This has always been our playground and our training field before winter, and for the first time this year 2017 we’ve decided to share it with you.

After being picked up at the airport, we’ll drive you directly to the bike shop to get your equipment, then to your cosy chalet in the small village of Sollières.

During the whole stay we will show you the variety of terrain that the area is offering, from the nice and easy trails in the forest to the long single tracks in the high alpine meadows. Our focus will be to maximise the ratio uphill/downhill by using the roads (all of them are still open by that time of the year).

Stunning views, autumn colors and fresh alpine air every day ! And a little extra for those who have been skiing with us in Maurienne : discovering the ski terrain before the snow is covering it !

You will be guided by Cédric who is a certified mountain bike instructor. His mission will be to help you getting better in any aspect of the mountain biking that you like best : downhill, technical trails, uphill…

Victor will also be here as a luxury tail guide, making sure everybody is safe…and enjoying. He will also drive our bus with our bike trailer.

This trip is yours, and your guides will be doing all they can to meet your expectations.

Autumn in the alps offers very often a wide range in temperatures. If afternoon can be nice and warm, mornings and evenings are usually quite chilly. Even if biking will make you warm, some extra layers of comfort are recommended : wool underwear and light down jackets.

The bikes and helmets are provided.

Some good all around trail running shoes or similar are recommended. If you have your own biking shoes and pedals we will mount them for you.
